Quote:
He who reigns within himself and rules his passions, desires, and fears is more than a king.~ John Milton

Prayer Request:
Leticia is going in for surgery tomorrow. Let’s send some prayers up to God to cover her in His grace and mercy. Let’s pray for a speedy recovery! We love you, Leticia!!!

Not A Good Day (Thanks, Keith!):
I rear ended a car this morning on my way to work.. I knew it was going to be a REALLY bad day.

The driver got out of the other car, and he was a DWARF!

He looked up at me and said, "I am NOT happy".

I said, "Well, which one ARE you then?

"That's when the fight started.

The Sentence Is In:
Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison Monday for his role in a dogfighting conspiracy that involved gambling and killing pit bulls.

Social Commentary – The Debate:
Ann: Karen, seriously?!?!? I am putting being a New England fan aside for a moment. This commentary is offensive and uneducated. With all due respect, clearly this commentary is not based on actual news reports, but one person's opinion that looks very much based on headlines.
The Marion Jones incident can only be compared to Floyd Llandis (apples for apples). They were both stripped of their title.
Barry Bonds is in more trouble for lying and obstruction of justice at the point compared to the steroids.
A coach can only do so much with the talent on the team they have. If the Patriots lacked or were comprised of all low draft picks, they wouldn't have trophies. Winning seasons are based on more than just the coach.

And BELICHICK's scandal of videotaping and being caught - was all over many newspapers and stations. Not to mention is still actively discussed in the sports news and journals.
Lastly, dog fighting is a crime in EVERY state. Maybe some of the really backwoods states classify it as a misdemeanor, however 90% of the states call it a felony. Respectfully yours, Ann.
Keith: Before I send my response 'As of 2007, dog fighting is a felony in 48 states and a misdemeanor in Idaho and Wyoming" so let Mertis know that her backyard failed in its attempt at statehood and Pennsyltucky doesn't really exist.

Here is my take on the national debate comparing dog fighting, hunting and the Bill Belichick cheating scandal. Many have asked why Vick gets 23 months in jail for financing an illegal dog fighting venture while hunters and BillBelichick go unpunished for the killing of Deer, Pheasant and the Dallas Cowboys.

One theory that has been thrown around as to why America is up inarms about dog fighting is that dog fighting is illegal in 50 of the 62 states, is sadistic (except if your dog wins and you get PAID) and that Vicks losing dogs end up as General Tao's Chicken in 85% of Chinesecarry-out places.

Now according to leading experts in the field of Video Cheating, Bill Belichick wasn't actually cheating...what he was doing wasgetting some 'before' footage of the opposing coaches faces to contrast the look of 'shock and awe' that every coach seems to have etched on their faceafter the game.

These same experts have conclusive evidence that Barry Bonds subbed for Marion Jones in the Olympics and that is why she admitted to steroid use by proxy.Another theory is that Vick and Belichick (working undercover) have unearthed a vast conspiracy linking the NFL, Mexican and Russian Dog Fighting gangs, and the killing of JFK. Belichick was doing surveillance while Vick was working to penetrate the gangs from inside prison walls. Their cover is the cheating scandal (which is why not much was made out of it) and Bad Newz Kennels.

My theory is that...oh, the Chinese delivery guys here. Hope Vicks dog won!
Shirlean responding directly to Mertis: Amen amen amen.............like always, folk see what they want to and convict who they want to! I feel for Mike Vick and I don't care what anyone says....

I meant to post a disclaimer to this posting . . . .

Keith has been crazy from the crib. I am sure that I was involved with dropping him on his head a time or two.

Many apologies.
